Amanda Beggs
Amanda Beggs has been a highly visual person and very interested in film, especially the obscure and awkward, all her life. Born somewhere that doesn't matter, she's moved almost every 4 years and believes that experience, including 3 years living abroad in Japan, has only helped her grow creatively. She chose to direct and produce her senior film at SCAD, "Oberschule", although she splits her passion of directing with her love of production sound recording. At SCAD, she found her niche in recording any and all location audio for over half of the 70 student films she's worked on. She has also worked on the highly popular SCAD Shorts and one of the finalist films for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker Award, both in the capacity of production sound. More than anything, she agrees with George Lucas in that "sound is 50 percent of the moviegoing experience." She plans to move to Los Angeles upon graduating and look for jobs in either or both the film and sound fields.
