Standoff Studios

Miguel was born in Barcelona, Spain and raised in Madrid. After several years of living and working in various countries, he eventually settled in Costa Rica in 1998 to combine his passion with his work. Miguel has been a PADI and TDI certified scuba instructor for over 8 years, and in that time has become a self-taught underwater videographer with some outstanding footage to his credit. He spent several years at the feared and famous Coco Islands National Park (Costa Rica), where he rubbed elbows with all kinds of sharks and other creatures, and where his knowledge and passion for the ocean, and how to capture it on video, was nurtured. Now he has joined ranks with StandOff Studios as an underwater cameraman and can also been seen above land in The Catch and The Undersea Adventures of the Almaco. Miguel’s daily life in Costa Rica consists of his scuba diving and tourism business (Almaco Tours), shooting underwater video, and joining his wife, Bari, in her catering enterprise providing gourmet meals to lucky travelers.
