Todd graduated from the University of Maine with a BA degree in Psychology in 1997 primarily focusing on perception and cognitive interpretation of visual information. After graduation, Todd continued to research the impact of film and media and how the human mind processes what is seen. This led him to pursue an MFA in Film at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

In keeping with the visual domain, Todd took special interest in the camera department and image acquisition. He is a skilled Steadicam owner/operator, director of photography, and camera operator for both the film and digital mediums. Todd is a freelance Steadicam operator, camera operator, and director of photography currently living in Savannah, Georgia, with his wife Sara.
